• Common mentals are useless unless they are very intense or accompanied with modalities

• Concomitants of mental symptoms are extremely important

1. Very intense 2. Have modalities 3. associate themselves together peculiarly (Example-clean tongue with nausea) 4. Group together (ex. vomiting and diarrhoea)

• KEYNOTES are characteristic symptoms which unmistakably point to a small group of remedies. Single keynote is of no use in prescribing. Atleast three keynotes are needed (Hering's three-legged stool)

• BOENINGHAUSEN'S GENERALISATION- 

when a sensation or modality is experienced in two or more locations; this can be safely generalised

• PHYSICAL GENERALS-

1. AGGRAVATIONS 2. AMELIORATIONS 3. SENSATIONS 4. Food (Aggravation and cravings) 4. Sleep & dreams 5. Sex (Desire, masturbation,menses) 6. Pathological generals (See Boger's General Analysis and "Sensations and complaints" chapter in Boger-Boeninghausen Repertory)

• TOTALITY OF SYMPTOMS is not totality of all symptoms but is the totality of characteristic symptoms

• CAUSATION is the most important. Causation forms the core of the picture of illness in a patient. If you get the causation in a case, you have hit bulls eye. (There are about 5 pages of 'ailments from' in Synthesis Repertory in the mind chapter. They give the mental causation. Priceless stuff.)

• Boeninghausen considers aggravations as being more important than amelioration's during prescribing

• CHARACTERISTIC PARTICULARS come last in importance. They help in prescribing in acute diseases when the acute disease throws the chronic picture of disease into the background. They are useful in finding acute remedies.

• BOENINGHAUSEN'S FUNDAS- 1. Generalize on a large scale 2. Prime importance of modalities 3. Concomitants are very important 4 Physical generals are important 5. Mentals are used to differentiate

A Case of pulmonary tuberculosis

Introduction:

Pulmonary tuberculosis is the serious worldwide problem. If it identified at early stages patient can get complete cure. Great homeopath Dr.Carl von boenninghausen has cured by pulsatilla nigricans.  Here we are witnessing cure of pulmonary tuberculosis from genuine homeopathic clinical research center.

This patient treated successfully with our homeopathy medicine Pulsatilla nigricans & Tuberculinum in LMpotency.

Present complaints:

A 17-year young adolescent boy came with vague ill health, 

extreme lethargy after recurrent fever < 2-10pm, defective 

digestion, and recurrent tendency to catch cold. He complained of 

severe cough and weakness of chest and chest pain after cough. 

Complaints of Severe weight loss from 60kg to 45kg. Recently 

complaints of blood streaked sputum.

Dryness+++,  thirst less+,  dull and drowsy.

தினமும் காலை எழுந்ததும் வீட்டில் உள்ள அனைவரும் ஒரிரு நிமிடங்கள் செய்தால் போதும். உடலும், மனமும் புத்துணர்வோடு சுறுசுறுப்பாக இருப்பதோடு சளி, இருமல், காய்ச்சல் வரவே வராது.

குறிப்பாக அதிகாலை பிரம்மமுகூர்த்த நேரத்தில் எழுந்திருப்பவர்களுக்கு புதினா நீராவி மிகுந்த பயன்தரக்கூடியது.

மீதமுள்ள புதினா வடிநீரை குளிக்கும் நீரில் கலந்து குளித்தால் உடல்வலி, சோர்வு, அசதி நீங்கி புத்துணர்வு பெறுவதை உடனே உணரலாம். தோல்நோய்கள், அரிப்பு நீங்கி தோல் புத்துணர்வு பெறும்.

மேலும் வீட்டில் உள்ள ஜன்னல்களை மூடிவிட்டு புதினா நீராவியை வீடுமுழுவதும் பரவச்செய்தால் கொசு மற்றும் பிற பூச்சிகள் ஓடிவிடும். வீடும் நறுமணத்தோடு திகழும்,அதுமட்டுமல்ல மனச்சோர்வை நீக்கி புத்துணர்வு தருவதில் புதினா மிகச்சிறப்பானது.

1.A village woman aged about 40+ came to my clinic, with complaints of bursting headache… <weeping, sun exposure, after death of her husband. 

She wept a lot, while narrating complaints; I prescribed her natrum muriaticum 0/3aq daily doses until she feels better. 

After 15 days of time, she came again, and told she improved very well. No spells of sudden headache so far. I asked her to keep that natrum muriaticum 0/3aq solution with her for some time, and advised if she get headache take the same dilution after 10 succussions .  She came after 2 months with same complaints… I asked her, did u take that medicine? 

She replied, yes, I took it fully. She started weeping… I let her for some time to weep, and then I asked her why you are weeping now? Are memories of your husband disturbing you?  She replied, unexpected answer that, no, I do not feel for him, I become sleepless after I lost my ration card (family card) from lost month. (i can live without husband, how can i live without family card??) So I feel weeping. 

We arranged for getting new family card through some sources. After getting new ration card, she is ok. Until date, she is hale and healthy.

Prescribing medicines for every one who came to us is not necessary. Removal of the cause is equal to removal of the disease.

2. Likewise, a case of general myalgia in 9 year old girl, after careful case taking, repertorization and all that, I prescribed calc carb0/4aq od , until feels better, complaints recurred again and again. I inquired about the daily food pattern, her father told she used to take 4-5 pockets of lays chips. It contains lots of preservatives, taste enhancers, artificial flavors, mono sodium glutamate...etc. I advised her to stop packed and junk foods, and take homemade chips if she wants it.  Surprisingly she improved very well.

A Case of Dengue Fever

A male-aged sixty-five years old presented with fever since 7days. He reported severe bruised and breaking pain all over his body, especially on joints, < from exertion. He was unable to take rest in any position and had diarrhea during fever. Appetite increased without relish. Fever started after exposure in to wet, cold air in the morning. He took many doses of paracetamol the last 5 days as self-medication and also consulted an allopathic physician, but in vain.

Observations:

There was ankle eczema; the lesions were moderately edematous. Itching and burning were the sensations expressed by the patient. (On inquiry, patient said he was not worried about it, but wants relief from fever.)

< Cold bathing

> From exposing the area of lesion to direct sun heat

Initially he had allopathic treatment. Those symptoms palliated with antihistamines and topical applications.

Causation:

He suggested that Fever Started after exposure in to wet cold air in the morning.

Past history:

Tendency to catch cold easily from climate change. History of skin allergy and allergic rhinitis treated with allopathic medicines. He had medication for gastritis.

Personal history:

His father was a hypersensitive patient and his mother had eczema of the ankle. He was a smoker and now quit it. Occasional alcoholic, non vegetarian.

Physical generals:

Appetite increased without relish

Bowels: loose stools (sometimes with mucus), with back pain <sitting >standing, walking

Urine: profuse

Sleep disturbed by itching

Perspiration on exertion

Thirst ++

Temperature: 103 F

Thermal: Ambithermal

Lab investigations:

Dengue- positive

Mental generals:

Restless

Too anxious (because it is dengue fever)

Irritable

First prescription (27 Dec 2013)

Rx : Rhus tox 0/1 single dose with aqueous solution 5gtt/20 minutes until feels better.

Follow up one next day (28 dec2013)

Patient was comfortable with sensations after a few doses.

Slept well, Temp: 99F

Rx : Placebo for 4 days.

Follow up two (31 Dec 2013)

The patient was better with all his complaints.

Temperature: 99F

The skin lesion also disappeared.

Rx: Placebo for 1 week

Follow up three (7 Jan 2014)

No complaints

Treatment stopped

Conclusion:

Here I used Rhus tox 0/1aq, based on individual repertorisation.

Fever after exposure into wet cold air, severe bruised and breaking pain all over body, joint affections with restlessness.

Thirst++, diarrhea during fever,

Appetite increased without relish,

In addition, during that time here we used RHUS TOX as a genus epidemicus for Dengue fever. It cured the dengue positive case too.

The patient benefitted by first prescription itself. Here I remembered a case of acute cold, which was treated by Arsenicum album. As a bonus his (vitiligo) leucoderma in disclosed parts, disappeared,

(Here, as a bonus, edematous skin eruption with itching and burning > from exposing the area of lesion into direct sun heat, < Cold bathing, also disappeared),
